Profectus has managed the submission of planning applications at the centre for a food, drink, cultural, art and entertainment hub to be occupied by globally renowned operated Freight Island alongside a regional family leisure attraction to bring an additional 1m visitors per year to Eldon Square Shopping Centre. The proposals will reutilise large amounts of currently vacant floorspace within the shopping centre to secure its reinvigoration and revitalisation to ensure it remains at Newcastle’s economic and social heart in the future. Profectus is also retained in an ongoing day to day asset management role at the centre.
