Retail and Town Centre Planning Sub-Consultancy, Advice and Support

Profectus provide specialist town centre policy support to a range of national and independent planning consultancies working across the UK. This includes the preparation of retail impact assessments and sequential assessments for individual planning applications, as well as expenditure capacity (‘need’) modelling to help support Local Plan allocations or inform the appropriate quantum of retail floorspace within major residential or commercial schemes. Our capacity and need modelling can also be used to support ‘Grey Belt’ proposals for retail development.

We adopt a collaborative approach and can work flexibly with partner organisations, preparing stand-alone advice as Profectus Town Planning or providing technical justifications that can be re-branded by the planning consultancy if appropriate. Our work within this sector involves both major developments and smaller-scale schemes. We would be happy to discuss the town centre policy implications of an emerging proposal at appraisal stage if it is of assistance to a consultancy or their client.
